Ram Anand Subbarao was born and raised in the small coastal town of Sitiawan, Perak to a middle-class family of sundry shop operators. He started picking up writing on his own accord at the age of 16, and has been writing and authoring ever since.

Now 23, Ram is a journalist with Malaysia’s oldest newspaper, The Malay Mail, and also the author of The Rainforest Unicorns, his maiden novel published in November 2011 locally.

Ram’s lair is located at Petaling Jaya, the urbane heartland of the state of Selangor, where he can normally be found working on his second novel, The Last Man Dreaming, a apocalyptic thriller that is expected to be completed by June 2012.
