Hello Mr Ram Anand!

I'm Sri Vindiya's classmate and she lent me your book, 'The Rainforest Unicorns'. I just finished reading the book and I found it very interesting. It was great that you touched on many issues pertaining to Malaysian Indians, homosexuality and social status. It was indeed a good read! Thank you and I hope to read more of your books.

P.S. I just realised that you have written quite a number of interesting books. I hope to find and read them in the future.

Thank you for a gracious reply.

By blurting out your opinion on the blog, you (intentionally or otherwise) generalised and that is my only concern.

The analysis given to your article (I hope you were referring to your article in the second paragraph of your comment) is often, if not constantly, given to RagedIndian as well. I don't stay mute. I voice it out. Know that he has been gracious enough to accept criticism. I am not intending to justify the ludicrousness of his ideologies and his serious lack of concern for grammar and sentence structuring. The sole reason for my initial comment (on your post) was to bring to your attention your shortcomings (if I may be so bold to say so) when you advocated implied generalisation of RagedIndian's readers. Justified as your intentions were, to not dissect and separate groups within RagedIndian's fan base, your post misled me to believe that you assume that everyone whom reads and comments on RagedIndian are cheerleaders for mediocrity. I fervently hope otherwise as you seem to be a well-grounded and laudable writer yourself. It would be a shame for me to allow you to be prematurely judged.

Again, I thank you for your diplomatic reply.
Keep writing, you seem to be doing a great job!

Dear Hdaran,

Generalisation is never a good thing. But I don't have the intention to dissect and separate groups in this instance. I'm merely blurting out my opinion of the blog since it was triggered by a friend.

I just wish the kind of analysis that goes into commenting on this article would go for the rest of our community and writers like the one I have mentioned above. This is a rant, pure and simple. And I'm sticking to my guns all the same. :)

Taking a hit on the blogger himself is one thing but reducing its readers to a mere lot that has poor command of the English is rather short-sighted of you. Rather self-incriminating don't you think? To use generalisation as a 'lesser' notion, then to turn around and literally generalise...

Well "Imagine a guy slapping a girl while speaking eloquent English- and the girl immediately proposing to the guy just because he slaps so eloquently- get the picture?" NOOOOOOOO - I din't :) but of course I laughed to death reading that.

Watching the Ranbir picture in your post reminds me of a line from the movie that goes "Media mein sub kuch negative chalta hai" i.e Everyrhing in the media is negative theses days. Raged Indian readers seem to be the fresh victims.
Good Quality stuff is a rarity these days my man.Loved the rant :)

Haha...Jaya, you can like the blog. No problem. But all the same, I don't want to give him the benefit of doubt..I do see a point in what he is writing too but like I mentioned above, he is trespassing limits and voicing opinions in a very baseless manner. Because I saw a point I gave him the benefit of doubt two years ago. But now that I am professional enough, I think he should learn a thing or two. Like it or not, he is famous, and with that comes a responsbility. From what I see, he never observes any responsibility in what he does, with the exception of generalizing. I have no respect for an irresponsible individual. I have no idea how he is in real, nor do I have any impressions. But his blog represents his thoughts, and sorry to say, his thoughts aren't construed in a pleasant way at all.
